Chapter 42 - Stay Here With Me For A Little While (1)

After lunch that afternoon, Nie AnAn chatted a little more with Grandpa Nie about special areas to pay attention to about his health before she took off.

Everybody at the Nie’s walked her to the front of the mansion and also told their chauffeur to take her home safely.

Once Nie AnAn arrived home, she thought she’d let them know that she was home safely. But she didn’t have Father or Mother Nie’s cellphone number, so she sent a message to Nie ChengFeng, “Mr. Nie, I have arrived home. Please relate that to Uncle and Aunty and thank them for me for having their chauffeur take me back.”

Nie ChengFeng replied to her quickly, “Okay.”

He looked over and over again in his contact list but he wasn’t to find “Mama Nie”, his mother’s WeChat alias.

He frowned. For lack of any other options, he called his mother on his phone, “Mom, did you delete me from your WeChat again?”

“Delete you from WeChat? Of course not! I just stop following you is all,” said Mother Nie in a matter-of-factly way, “Why do you want to send me WeChat message?”

“AnAn just texted me to have me tell you that she has arrived home safely.” Having said that, Nie ChengFeng asked again, “And why did you stop following my WeChat?”

“Because all you talk about all day long was work. Why would I want to read that?” said Mother Nie full of resentment. But her attitude changed 180 degrees quickly. “Oh, I was so happy earlier I forgot to add AnAn to my WeChat. Send over her contact info, quickly!”

Nie ChengFeng, “…..”

A little while after he hung up the phone, his WeChat chimed.

[The mama who wanted a little wadded jacket]: “Here. Resentment.jpg”

“Ho Ho,” snickered Nie ChengFeng.

His mother had been using the same WeChat alias since the day she registered for an account 8 years ago. She had only seen Nie AnAn for the first time today and now she changed her WeChat alias?

If she wanted a daughter so badly, why didn’t she have a second child back then?

Even though he was grumbling inside, Nie ChengFeng still sent Nie AnAn’s WeChat contact info over to his mother shortly.

After that was sent over, his message was like a boulder being dropped into the ocean, Nie ChengFeng didn’t even get so much as a “thanks” from his mother.

At the same time, Mother Nie was happily chatting with Nie AnAn. She had liked every message in Nie AnAn’s friend’s circle.

There weren’t a lot of activities inside Nie AnAn’s friend’s circle. Most everything was posted after her transmigration.

There were no selfies in it at all. All of them were photos of food.

This was an extension of her habit from her previous life – using her friend’s circle to record every meal and also her nutritional combination for the last month.

Mother Nie, on the other hand, had already saved all the pictures one by one into her cellphone.

It started raining that night. Rain came whether or not they wanted during the summer time, and it was raining harder and harder. Even through the sliding glass door of the mansion, one could see the vapor rising like ripples.

When Huo YanXiao arrived at home, the entire city was already enveloped in pouring rain.

He stopped the car and walked inside of the mansion. Seeing the steam and smoke coming from the kitchen side, the coldness on his face seemed to have been softened by them.

It was raining so hard outside that Nie AnAn did not hear Huo YanXiao coming into the house at all.

After dinner was ready and she was about to bring the food out, she saw him in his light-colored casual clothes, leaning against the door and watching her.

Her eyes lit up all of a sudden as she walked over to him and said, “Big brother.”
