Chapter 42 - Did He Just Call Me Mom? (1)

‘tis was Saturday morning. The sun was bright and cloudless.

Earlier in the week, Ye Qing had promised to play badminton with little kiddo Chen Mian on Saturday.

Little kiddo Chen Mian had not forgotten that. She got up early in the morning and persistently knocked on Ye Qing’s door to wake her up before dragging the yawning Ye Qing to the dining room for breakfast, then they were on their way.

There was a badminton facility located in the mansion district. It was quite sizable with fairly decent facilities and both indoor and outdoor sections.

The weather was very nice today, so there were a few individuals in the outdoor section, but still not very many of them.

After all, most of the residents in this mansion district were all sorts of CEOs. They rarely had the luxury to take the weekends off.

Take her boss Chen Qinyan as an example. He usually left early in the morning and only returned late into the evening. Even though they lived under the same roof, Ye Qing didn’t always see him every day.

Aunty Yi told her this morning during breakfast that Chen Qinyan left the house before the sun was even up that morning.

What a work ethic, sighed Ye Qing to herself.

Badminton racket in hand, she and the little kiddo Chen Mian each stood on opposite sides of each other.

Little kiddo Chen Mian let Ye Qing serve first. She held a racket that was large enough to cover her entire face in hand. With her legs slightly apart, she stared at the badminton birdie in Ye Qing’s hand. She couldn’t look more serious.

This kid has a real passion for all sorts of ball games.

Not a big deal. All kids this age loved to play.

The odd thing was, every time Ye Qing played with her, she was never that interested when they started. As much as she was smiling, she felt the games were childish. But once they started playing, she wasn’t able to stop herself and became as zealous as little kiddo Chen Mian.

Darn! Was it little kiddo Chen Mian’s passion that influenced her and woke the zealousness hidden within her body?

Ye Qing tossed the birdie up in the air, then looking at the short little girl standing across from her, she thoughtfully smacked the birdie gently toward Chen Mian.

Chen Mian gripped the racket tightly; her eyes followed the birdie intently. Rght before it fell, she reached out her hand and smacked it back forcefully.

The fluttering birdie became sharp and fast under Chen Mian’s strength and flew directly at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing raised her brows in surprise.

Aiyo, what kind of explosiveness was that for a 3-year-old?

Was that what they called the student had exceeded the master?

She dared not underestimate her again. She ran backward a few steps, leapt gently into the air, and smacked the birdie back.

This time, Ye Qing didn’t try to go easy on Chen Mian because of her age.

After babysitting for the last few days, she had learned that little kiddo Chen Mian had unlimited amounts of energy. If she didn’t wear her out, she’d be the one who’d be exhausted by the end of the day. TvT

Besides, badminton was quite fun too!

How come she never noticed that before?

At her young age, little kiddo Chen Mian had already demonstrated her talent as a superior badminton athlete. Her little body was nimble and agile. Sometimes when she ran too fast, she’d fall on the ground.

Before Ye Qing was able to check and see if she was alright, Cotton Candy had already rolled a few times on the ground and caught it with her body in an unreconciled manner. Along with it, there was a soft “meow” sound, but nobody could hear that except herself.
