Chapter 32 - Happily Playing Games (5)

After a short break, kiddo Chen Mian secretly picked up Ye Qing’s hand again and snuck inside the study.

“Mommy, mommy. Let me show you another fun game!”

Ye Qing followed her dubiously.

Chen Qinyan wasn’t in the study, but the screen on his tablet was off. The glass of water, sitting on one side, was still steaming. Meaning, he was just here not too long ago.

Chen Mian pulled over a little stool like she had done this a million times, pulled the pen out from the side of the tablet, and placed it on the edge of the desk.

She then waved at Ye Qing to share the joy from this game, “Mommy, mommy, come over!”

With her very intact work ethic, Ye Qing walked over to the little girl.

Seeing her mother had walked over, Chen Mian quickly reached out her hand and swept the fountain pen onto the ground.

The fountain pen fell on the floor and made a loud noise.

Chen Mian looked up at her mommy and asked, “Did you hear that, mommy? Isn’t that sound melodious?”

Ye Qing gently knocked on the little girl’s head and said, “You can’t just toss things like that. It’s not nice.”

The little girl’s beaming eyes started losing their brightness. Feeling a little down, she said, “Okay, mommy.”

She had such a good time playing ball with mommy that she thought mommy would like this game as well, which was why she brought her here.

But mommy was also an adult; and adult didn’t like things thrown onto the ground.

But she really couldn’t help herself meow! QAQ

Seeing how the little kiddo Chen Mian was feigning her happiness, Ye Qing blinked and thought to herself; wait a minute. Her job was just to play with the child and keep her happy. It wasn’t her job to raise her properly.

Pretty Face could take care of that.

She wasn’t her daughter. Why did she bother?

Ah, mistake. Mistake.

Ye Qing, the emotionless working machine, quickly adjusted herself into her work mode, bent over, picked up the fountain pen, placed it back on the edge of the desk, and said in a happy tone, “Ah, once in a while is okay though.”

Chen Mian’s eyes beamed.

She knew it! Mommy was the only one who could understand her in this world!

Mommy was so awesome meow!

She tugged on Ye Qing’s sleeve and encouraged her strongly, “Mommy, you try too!”

Ye Qing nodded. With a smile on her face, she pushed the pen off onto the ground.

The pen fell, once again, onto the floor and made the same sound as before.

But…

Ye Qing felt different this time.

When Cotton Candy did it, she didn’t feel anything.

When she did it herself… this sound was so…

Melodious!

Ye Qing’s mouth opened up slightly from surprise. She looked at the fountain pen that was still rolling on the ground in disbelief.

Was this the kind of game that one would only “get” when they tried it themselves?

Her viewpoint on life had changed once again. She would never had cared for a game like this in the past.

Hesitating, she picked up the fountain pen and gave it another try.

Music! To! Her! Ears!

The hesitation was gone in no time flat.

You only live once. Live every day like it’s your last, right?

So what if she enjoy one or two childish games?

And so, the mother and daughter pair each grabbed their own pen and placed them on both sides of the desk.

Kiddo Cotton Candy on the left and Ye Qing on the right.

The two counted at the same time, “3, 2, 1!”

Followed by Bang! Bang! Both pens falling onto the ground at the same time.

Right then, the door to the study was pushed open.

Chen Qinyan, who had just finished showering, walked inside in his robe.
