From Ruan Xia's point of view, the original Ruan Xia had only done one horrible thing in the novel, which was giving away her son. As for the original Ruan Xia's other life decisions, she didn't really have the right to evaluate it as an outsider. After all, the original Ruan Xia merely loved herself the most. Everyone had their own way of living. This was fine as long as a person's lifestyle didn't touch the moral bottom line.
