Chapter 239 - Peacefully leaving wasn't Huo Ren's style (2)

The people who placed these explosives were diligent in their sinister plot. The explosives were connected to each other, and tied to layers of various bits and bobs. There were also a lot of things heaped on top of that. It would be difficult to remove.

Of course, this was the handiwork of Huo Ren and his gang. She knew Huo Ren wouldn't leave so peacefully.

Bei Nuan pondered aloud, "Where did Huo Ren find so many explosives?"

It was impossible for Huo Ren's convoy to carry around so many explosives all the time.

Jia Han figured it out and explained, "There's an armed forces arsenal nearby. They probably got them from there."

The tribe hated fire, so they naturally wouldn't touch the items in the arsenal. Huo Ren took advantage of that.

Bei Nuan mulled it over. "There are so many explosives. Bringing them inside and tying them up would take a lot of time. How could they do all that so quickly?"

"They definitely didn't do all of this right before they left," Jia Han said, "I've sent people to keep an eye on them during that time. They didn't have time to do all this."

Lu Xingchi said, "They must have prepared this beforehand. Possibly during the daytime."

Bei Nuan trembled in fright. Even if Jue Niu hadn't shot Huo Ren and Jia Han hadn't fallen out with Huo Ren, Huo Ren had planned on killing the tribe after he left.

Jia Han was very calm. He asked people to get scissors and pliers and planned to slowly remove the explosives and detonators.

However, Lu Xingchi stopped him, "Don't touch it."

"I watched Huo Ren and his gang leave," Bei Nuan explained, "So these explosives aren't remote control. They're either triggered by touch or by time. Be careful."

Lu Xingchi already found it. "Look inside the pile. It's counting down."

The display could be easily seen if someone was lying on the ground. In the deepest layer of the bits and bobs, there was light from a display that was counting down. There was one minute left.

This was an area with densely packed tents. Most of the tribe were sleeping nearby.

Jia Han was already ordering, "Wake everyone up and evacuate."

His voice was somehow still calm, but Bei Nuan knew that it was impossible to wake up so many people and evacuate in one minute.

"Can you seal up the explosives?" Bei Nuan asked Lu Xingchi.

"Unlikely. There's not enough metal in the camp. Adding a thin metal cover will only make the explosion more lethal."

Lu Xingchi thought it over and said, "I can try my luck and melt the circuit board in the timer."

He calmly said to Bei Nuan, "Go out now and wait for me outside the camp."

Once the explosives went off, the nearest people would be turned into dust first.

Bei Nuan didn't move.

The display was still rapidly counting down. Each second was going by so fast.

"I'll do it." She took a few steps forward and touched the pile of explosives. Before the countdown went to zero, everything in the warehouse including the explosives and detonators disappeared.

Everyone looked at each other.

Lu Xingchi knew that Bei Nuan had collected the explosives into the upper level of her pocket space where time didn't flow, and the countdown wouldn't continue.

The upper level of her pocket space had become a warehouse for dangerous goods. Not only was she storing a gas station with tanks full of gasoline, she also added explosives that were about to explode.

However, Bei Nuan acted as if that wasn't a big deal. Relaxed and happy, she said, "Okay, job completed."

In front of the others, Bei Nuan had placed her hand on the explosives, and the danger had disappeared like a miracle.

Bei Nuan didn't explain and didn't want to explain. Her status as the saint could perfectly explain everything.

The crisis that almost wiped out the tribe was so easily resolved by Saint Jiade.

Jia Han looked at Bei Nuan for a long time. His Adam's apple went up and down. In the end, he didn't say anything. He only leaned forward and deeply bowed in the same manner as usual.

The other people in the tent, who had lost all hope and then escaped from death, finally remembered to move. They followed their chief in bowing to Bei Nuan.

Bei Nuan thought; in those dramatic movie scenes, heroes and villains would walk away and never turn around to look at the explosion that was happening behind them. Based on that, Huo Ren wouldn't come back.

Everyone could finally go back to sleep.

Lu Xingchi said to Jia Han, "Chief, I have something I want to ask."

Lu Xingchi had an extraordinary temperament and joined the tribe with Bei Nuan. He was obviously her friend. Jia Han looked at him and agreed.

Bei Nuan knew what he was going to ask and hastily moved closer to listen.

Lu Xingchi asked Jia Han about Huo Ren and LBD.

Huo Ren's setting off explosives was tantamount to falling out with the tribe for good. Bei Nuan had recently saved everyone, so now was a good time to ask Jia Han questions.

Sure enough, Jia Han answered all of the questions and didn't hide anything he knew.

Jia Han said that LBD was a charity organization affiliated with a wealthy and imposing multinational group. In the past years, it had stretched its hands deep into this country's economics and politics.

Huo Ren was a promising young man that was highly regarded by LBD.

Bei Nuan suddenly asked Jia Han, "How long have you known Huo Ren? Has he always been like this?"

Lu Xingchi seemed to glance at her. She didn't pay attention to him and waited for Jia Ha's answer.

Jia Han thought it over and replied, "He used to be calmer and wasn't so arrogant like he is now. I don't know why. It feels like he's a different person."

Sure enough.

Bei Nuan felt more certain that Huo Ren was a transmigrator.
