Chapter 41 - Romance Killer (2)

Hinted by her colleague, Yan Shuyu quickly noticed the pair of man and woman sitting by the window. She noticed the woman first because she was facing her.

Yan Shuyu wasn’t checking out whether she was attractive; there was no way she’d be more attractive than herself anyway – the first thing she saw was the Kelly diamond necklace that she had on and on her wrist, there was a Tiffany T bracelet that everyone was raving about lately. If they were both real, just the two pieces would cost between $50,000 ~ $60,000. In her past life, Yan Shuyu was still a student, so she didn’t recognize the brands of the woman’s rings, clothing, and purse, but that did not stop her from labelling her as a WRP (White, Rich, and Pretty).

WRP was wonderful. They tended to be very generous, so she could look forward to the tip that she would be getting.

And, if the woman was of such high quality, then the man with the towering back sitting across from home must also be a generous TRH (Tall, Rich, and Handsome).

Yan Shuyu was getting progressively more excited as she walked toward the two of them. Adhering to the principle that customers were like God, she asked in a friendly tone, “Good afternoon, Mister and Miss. What would you like to listen to today?”

As soon as she finished asking, Miss WRP looked up slightly and the man across from her also turned around. Yan Shuyu saw the face of the male lead’s father who simply wouldn’t leave her alone.

It was déjà vu all over again and, once again, Yan Shuyu’s first thought was to dash out of there.

She wasn’t as worried that he’d want her to be his son’s stepmother now. Instead, her worry was replaced by unmatched embarrassment and shame, especially when Boss Zhou asked her, “So you are working part-time here?” with an unreadable look. Yan Shuyu was so ashamed that she wanted to dig a hole right then and there and burrow herself inside.

As Yan Shuyu had bedded the male lead’s father the night that she has transmigrated over, and knowing that “she” could have been the next Mrs. Zhou, so even though she addressed Zhou Qinhe as big boss, she didn’t really think of him as someone belonging to a different world. Once she stopped factoring in his status, the amazing Boss Zhou was but a man that she had bedded and dumped, so deep within Yan Shuyu’s mind, she possessed this mysterious confidence and merely looked at Boss Zhou as an ex.

Think about it here, her “ex” brought a nice and pretty girl to afternoon tea and listening to music, and she was here serving them tea and water and would have to play piano on the side to help them better the ambiance. That was kind of pitiful and sad, right?

Yan Shuyu wanted to be prideful too, but she was also a great mother. She needed to support herself and her instant son so she would have to bow down to money. She summoned up her courage, met the big boss’s undecipherable look, and with an awkward but not embarrassing smile, said, “Um… what a coincidence, Boss Zhou. Yes, I work here now.”

Zhou Qinhe raised his brow a little and with a loaded smile, he said, “Very well.”

Yan Shuyu, “…..”

She felt that she got the meaning behind the big boss’s smile. He was just making fun of how she had quit right after she had bedded him and ended up going from an excellent employee of a 5-star hotel to a local restaurant, playing musical instruments for the customers. Sure, her situation seemed to be lower than where she was before, but the way that he was obviously making fun of her also made her very unhappy. She couldn’t help but call him all sorts of names for being petty and a bully in her head.

Luckily, even if the male lead’s father might not be a very nice guy, Miss WRP across from him was pretty and kind. She kindly helped her out by saying that, “We just want to have some music to relax, just play anything that you see fit.”

T/N: Note that I did not create acronyms such as WRP and TRH because I am too lazy to type them all out each time. 😊 They are translations of Chinese internet slangs that were meant to be used as noun phrases throughout the book, hence the translator (that’d be me) believed that using acronyms for these would be more fitting.

P.S. Thank you Zefelina and Supermanatee for your sweet reviews on Novel Updates ^^. Here’s an extra chapter as a thank you!
